Job Description - Senior CAD Drafter

ASMACO is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Drafter to support the engineering team of an international industrial group on a project based in Switzerland. The position is expected to begin ASAP for an initial period of three months, with the possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will translate engineering concepts and site conditions into accurate and structured technical documentation. The position requires a solid understanding of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and industrial plant processes to ensure that drawings are clear, consistent and suitable for regulatory review, authority submissions and site execution.

Key Responsibilities :

P&ID Management: Maintain, update, and manage Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in close collaboration with process engineers.

Layout & General Arrangement (GA) Drawings: Create and update plant layouts, equipment arrangements, and plot plans for authority approvals and site execution.

Authority Submittals: Prepare standardized drawing packages tailored for local authorities and regulatory compliance reviews.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Interface with process, mechanical, and civil engineers to incorporate design changes accurately.

Drawing Control: Maintain standard CAD layering, block libraries, revision histories, and documentation protocols.

Requirements :

Software Mastery: 10+ years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD (2D proficiency is essential; experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar is a plus).

P&ID Expertise: At least 2 years of focused experience specifically drafting and updating P&IDs.

Process Understanding: Strong ability to read, interpret, and understand process flow schematics, piping specifications, valve types, instrumentation, and line numbering.

Regulatory/Submittal Awareness: Familiarity with preparing General Arrangement layouts for authority permitting and regulatory review.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to drawing standards, symbology consistency, and revision control

Familiarity with international drafting standards (ISO, ANSI, DIN) or ISA-5.1 P&ID symbols.

Background in industries such as chemical, water/wastewater, energy, manufacturing, or oil & gas.

Basic familiarity with 3D modeling or spatial layout coordination.
