Senior Reliability Engineer (80-100%)

• Data Analysis and Reliability Modelling: You ensure the development of reliable Direct Air Capture (DAC) Capture Unit products by defining test campaigns, analyzing data across multiple facilities, and setting a new standard in data analysis and reliability modelling to support validation, design, and testing efforts. 

• Methodology Development and Training: You establish new data analysis methodologies and train your colleagues to effectively apply them in ongoing and future test campaigns. 

• Cross-Department Collaboration: You work closely with validation and testing engineers to understand their campaigns, support their experimental design, and advise on optimal data collection strategies for robust analysis. 

• Testing Campaign Management: You manage testing campaigns from end to end—including test design, planning, progress tracking, reporting, and communicating results—to ensure high-quality, actionable outcomes. 

• Communication and Presentation: You clearly and concisely communicate technical results, findings, and observations to peers, and present your analyses in technical reviews. 

• Experience and Expertise: You hold a MSc in Mechanical Engineering and bring at least 5 years of experience in a testing environment, combining proactive engineering skills with a strong computational and statistical background. 

• Data Analysis and Reliability Modelling Knowledge: You have hands-on experience in mechanical lifetime and fatigue testing, airflow and pressure drop testing, and environmental survivability testing. You use this data to build statistical models (e.g., Weibull) that predict component failure modes and lifetimes. 

• Testing Campaign Management Experience: You have led test campaigns from goal definition and test protocol creation to final reporting and results communication. 

• Software Skills: You are proficient in data analysis and visualization using platforms such as Python, Seeq, and Grafana, and are committed to building traceable, well-documented analysis tools. 

• Collaboration and Working Style: You are a collaborative team player who combines innovation with a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving. 

• Language Skills: You are fluent in English; working knowledge of German is an advantage.

Salary: At Climeworks, salary ranges are assigned to a job based on the level of seniority and the location specific market median of similar jobs according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

• This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, and we ask that you work onsite at least three days per week.
