In this strategic role, you will contribute to the discovery and development of novel fragrance ingredients, leveraging your deep chemical expertise and data-driven insights to explore the vast olfactive chemical space. Your work will directly support the creation of next-generation, sustainable ingredients that shape the future of beauty and fragrance.\n\nYour Key Responsibilities\n\n * Discovery Efforts: Lead the identification, design, and delivery of novel, sustainable ingredients, contributing to breakthrough innovations in perfumery and beauty, nutrition and health applications.\n * Project Leadership: Manage and execute innovation projects aligned with strategic business goals, ensuring timely and impactful outcomes.\n * Accelerate Innovation: Develop and implement advanced discovery strategies, integrating automation, AI, and data-driven methodologies to accelerate Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) cycles.\n * Foster Collaboration: Build and nurture internal and external partnerships to strengthen scientific collaboration and innovation pipelines.\n * Team Development: Supervise and mentor a team of laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous learning.\n * Scientific Excellence: Stay at the forefront of scientific advancements through literature review, seminars, and conferences.\n\n\n\nWe offer\n\n * Being part of an interdisciplinary Science \u0026 Research team of industry-leading researchers with a state-of-the-art equipped research facility\n\n\n * Work at the forefront of new technology implementation towards the discovery of new ingredients for Perfumery \u0026 Beauty.\n * Work in continuous dialogue with colleagues in perfumery and process chemistry.\n\n\n * Become part of a diverse and highly innovative and international Science \u0026 Research team.\n * The opportunity to work for a highly socially company where sustainability is much more than a claim and is core to our strategy and purpose.\n\n\n\nYou bring\n\n * A PhD in Chemistry, with a strong foundation in organic chemistry and drug discovery, with proven record of leveraging AI/ML in chemical research.\n * 5 to 10 years of industrial R\u0026D experience in fragrance, life sciences, specialty chemicals, or pharmaceuticals, with experience in drug discovery as a plus. \n * Proven track record in new molecule discovery and innovation, with experience leading or contributing to successful R\u0026D projects.\n * Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor teams, while also contributing effectively as a collaborative team member.\n * A deep passion for scientific innovation, with a proactive mindset and enthusiasm for exploring novel technologies and methodologies, with a focal point on automation.\n * Curious, open-minded, and highly self-motivated, with strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills.\n * Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a plus.\n\n\n\nAbout dsm-firmenich \nAt dsm-firmenich, we don\u2019t just meet expectations \u2013 we go beyond them.
