Reporting to the Senior Software Manager, the C++ Software Engineer – Embedded Systems is responsible for developing and maintaining embedded software that powers industrial instrumentation used worldwide. In this role, you will contribute directly to new product development and long‑term product sustainment, working hands‑on with C++ code in embedded environments while collaborating closely with cross‑functional and international teams.

This position is part of the R&D Software department, located in Geneva (Vésenaz), Switzerland, and will be hybrid.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software primarily in C++
  • Developing software for embedded Linux systems and microcontrollers (RTOS or no OS)
  • Implementing features and fixes within given software architectures
  • Contributing to software architecture and design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Debugging, verifying, and testing software at component and system level
  • Supporting new product development (NPD) as well as sustaining activities such as quality improvements, compliance, obsolescence management, and product modifications
  • Collaborating closely with electronics, systems, manufacturing, and service teams across international locations
  • Working according to established R&D processes, quality systems, and agile practices

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 or more years of professional software development experience
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in C++ (modern C++ preferred)
  • Proven experience in embedded software development
  • Experience working with embedded Linux and/or RTOS based systems
