We are looking for a technical writer to join the Web3 Foundation research team to help out with research outreach. You will create, refine, and enhance materials that communicate research results. Your work will consist of maintaining the research website, creating social media content and writing blogposts on Polkadot core protocols, new research initiatives and cryptographic primitives created by the research team. You will collaborate closely with researchers and the marketing team to ensure content is both engaging and informative for global audiences. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing projects in the blockchain ecosystem and shape how the industry understands the future of Polkadot, Kusama, JAM, and Web3 technologies.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and maintain clear, comprehensive content and simplify complex technical concepts for a broad audience, from new joiners to the blockchain community to seasoned blockchain engineers. 


• Collaborate effectively with the research team and marketing team to gather, refine, and present technical information accurately. 


• Maintain, organize, and structure documentation and the research website for better discoverability and usability.


• Stay up-to-date with blockchain, smart contracts, and Polkadot ecosystem advancements to keep documentation relevant.


• Participate in content strategy discussions, to identify content gaps and to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across all documentation.

Requirements 

• Ability to understand and explain technical concepts clearly, either by work experience or education in a technical field 


• Experience in writing clear, structured, and concise technical documentation that made you good at writing, editing, and proofreading. 


• Experience with Markdown, Git, and version control for maintaining the research website. 


• Ability to operate independently and proactively identify and learn new skills or knowledge to adapt to evolving challenges.


• Ability to be flexible and turnover quality content quickly when needed 


• Strong interest in Blockchain technology 

Preferred Requirements 

• Understanding of Polkadot and the wider Polkadot ecosystem


• Experience contributing to open-source projects or blockchain communities
