Test Automation Engineer
Contract Opportunity – 6 months, likely extendable
Geneva, Switzerland – 100% on site not considering anyone relocating, you must already be in a commutable distance (IT systems cannot be accessed off site for contractors)
Private Banking English language required, French is a bonus. You will join a core banking system upgrade, working with the Test Manager to lead the transition to automated testing, from manual testing. You will be responsible for test case management, environment setup, and script writing to implement efficient automated testing using automated testing tools similar to Selenium. Key tasks:
• Analyse test cases on the core banking system upgrade to assess automation possibilities.
• Develop automated test scripts using either Java, Groovy OR Python.
• Automate collection and organisation of test cases in Excel.
• Utilise Jenkins and Maven for continuous integration and build management.
• Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to enhance testing.
• Design and implement scalable and maintainable automation frameworks from scratch.
• Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines, enhancing feedback loops for development @ teams, and connecting to Bitbucket.
• Exhibit proficiency in Katalon Studio or similar Selenium WebDriver-based tools for web automation testing.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers in establishing test environments and formulating unit test guidelines.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new testing tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with developers to diagnose and resolve defects identified through automation.
• Define and monitor key performance metrics to refine automation testing strategies. Your profile:
• At least 5 years experience in testing, and at least 3 years in automated testing.
• Experience in banking, preferably working with core banking systems on upgrades, implementations or maintenance.
• Skilled in scripting in Java, Python or Groovy.
• Skilled in the following for test automation – Jenkins, Maven, Katalon Studio, Selenium Web Driver, and Bitbucket. Docker is a bonus.
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
• Proven experience in management of test environments.
