The BI specialist is part of Liebherr’s Corporate IT Reporting Systems Team that belongs to the Group financial direction. The BI specialist works closely with members of Liebherr’s HQ finance team in gathering requirements, creating, and maintaining reports with actionable items to track performance and support decision making that impact the business. The ideal candidate thinks outside of the box, is a self-starter as well as a team player with a strong background in Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server, with a focus on Business Intelligence and financial reporting.
Tasks:
- Support and develop group-wide reporting solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies, including SQL Server and Power BI in close collaboration with business departments
- Understand business stakeholders’ objectives and metrics and translate them into effective reports
- Apply best practices in managing data sets and creating data visualizations
- Ensure the applications’ continuous availability and upgrades
- Maintain the systems documentation
- Responsible for data security and data access performance
- In charge of users-oriented training on report usage and interpretation
- Contact person for questions and support-requests from end-users
- Liaise with the Liebherr BI community
- Identify and action opportunities to improve processes
Qualifications:
- Several years of relevant experience in BI reports development
- Proven ability to facilitate requirements gathering to help customers define their needs
- Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with teammates when addressing issues and other needs
- University degree in computer science or business administration with adequate work experience as a BI specialist
- Experience in the development and technical support of Microsoft Business Intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on Power BI and SQL Server, including DAX and Power Query
- Strong understanding of data modeling for Business Intelligence, including relational and dimensional modelling, Star Schema, and Tabular models. Experience with SSRS and other reporting tools is an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently investigate issues, identify root causes and develop effective solutions
- Experience in Corporate Performance Management Reporting is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of CPM software CCH Tagetik or similar tools is a big plus
- Fluent spoken and written English, German is a plus and French skills are an advantage
- Project management mindset
- Teamwork and cooperation skills backed by good communication skills
