Job main responsibilities

Omya Consumer and Environmental Solutions (CES) is Omya business Segment dedicated to all our business activities in Consumer Goods, Agriculture and Environmental applications. Omya CES is looking for a Technical Service Manager, mainly dedicated to the development of its environmental business in Water Treatment.

The Technical Services Water group of Omya’s Environmental Solutions segment supports the technical implementation of our differentiating solutions at our customer sites through consulting and trials. Main objective is to support our sales development through technical projects with various Industrial and Municipal facilities.

The role’s main responsibilities include:

• Working closely with our Sales department to grow our business in water treatment and achieve our overall business targets.
• Develop and maintain technical expertise linked to our products and associated applications.
• Work with local equipment providers to realize trials at customers’ location.
• Coordinate, with our customers, technical projects to switch to Omya technology to improve overall customer process performance, safety and sustainability aspects.
• Participate to Fairs, Conferences, to improve visibility of our technology portfolio.
• Work with R&D and Engineering teams to facilitate new products’ introduction.

Candidate profile requirements

Education and practical experience:

• Degree in a related technical field (e.g. process/industrial/chemical/mechanical engineering), or technical apprenticeship with 3+ years of practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in waste water, process water, drinking water.
• Practical experience in the following fields is advantageous: Automation and process control, fluid transport systems, commissioning, powder and slurry handling.
• A profound understanding of water chemistry, water treatment processes is mandatory.

Furthermore, the candidate should provide:

• A pragmatic, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset with a drive to deliver success while meeting quality and safety expectations.
• Project management skills with a proven track record of successful execution of complex projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate in project teams of diverse cultural and professional background in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in English (both written and oral) is required, additional languages (German, French, Dutch) are a plus
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% (predominantly in Europe)
• Location in Switzerland at Omya HQ in Oftringen is preferred.
