Senior Scientific Associate

Hobson Prior is seeking a Senior Scientific Associate for a role focused on analytical development and quality control for Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP). This role involves developing, optimising and conducting analytical methods for a variety of techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, assess, optimise and apply analytical methods using various techniques.
• Conduct release, retest, stability studies, transfer and (pre-) validation analyses.
• Write and review analytical method protocols and reports.
• Maintain and operate analytical equipment.
• Plan and execute experiments for method development, assessment, optimization, and application.
• Participate in meetings at intra- and inter-departmental level.
• Document all analytical activities and results.
• Train laboratory personnel and ensure cleanliness of laboratory and workspace.
• Independently design and execute projects or experiments.
• Ensure availability of adequate lab materials and justify acquisition of new materials or equipment.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Education in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or chemical engineering.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry with advanced knowledge of sample preparation, analytical instrumentation techniques especially in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy.
• Good troubleshooting skills for analytical instrumentation.
• High flexibility, advanced communication, time-management and team-working skills.
• Basic knowledge of QC or GMP.
• Ability to work independently and to take initiative.
• Proficient in English.
