Location: Basel, Switzerland (Onsite)
#LI-Onsite TEMPORARY POSITION FOR 6 MONTHS We are seeking a Temporary Associate in Metabolism to contribute to research projects investigating the interplay and dysfunctions of metabolic pathways in disease. This role will work directly with the Biomedical Research team and reports to the Principal Scientist II. Key Responsibilities:
• Investigating how chronic metabolic dysfunctions lead to disease progression.
• Developing in vitro models and assays to modulate and measure metabolic activity in primary cells.
• Learning and applying techniques such as organoid cultures, primary cell isolation, viral transductions, biochemical assays, immunofluorescence stainings and imaging.
• Working in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team to directly support and contribute to ongoing drug discovery projects.

Essential Requirements:
•B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in English (both written and oral).
• Experience in cell biology and general molecular biology techniques (e.g. RT-PCR, transfections and transductions, cell culture, immunoblotting, staining and imaging).
• Experience with primary cells isolation and culture is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Previous experience in an industrial research setting preferred. Why Novartis?
