SompoRe has opportunities on our Zurich Reinsurance Actuarial Pricing team for three Reinsurance Actuarial Interns to help us through the main renewal season for European reinsurance treaties. The period of this internship will be from July 2026 to end of December 2026.

Our business, your impact, our opportunity

Our Reinsurance actuarial team in Zurich is an international team of reinsurance pricing actuaries who are in charge of pricing all business underwritten in our Zurich Reinsurance office.  This includes Property & Casualty lines focusing on Europe including working with the London Market as well as multiple Specialty lines (such as Marine & Energy, Credit & Surety, and Aviation) with a global mandate.

What you’ll be doing:

Responsibilities include:

•  Assist in the analysis of actuarial model parameters including loss frequency and severity trends.

•  Perform data manipulation on client data and load this into the pricing tools.

•  Assist in the pricing of Property, Casualty, Marine, Engineering and Aviation reinsurance treaties including documentation of results and methodologies used.

•  Collaborate closely with the underwriting and actuarial teams.

•  Other Ad Hoc projects as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience

•   Currently pursuing degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or similar.

•   Strong knowledge of Excel required; programming experience is a plus.

•   Fluency in English, any another European language is an advantage.

•   Basic knowledge of reinsurance preferred.

•   Good verbal and written communication skills.

•   Ability to work in a multi-cultural team.

•   Ability to manage workflow to ensure that deadlines are met.

•   Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

•   Ability to think independently and formulate recommendations.

The successful candidates will acquire knowledge on reinsurance data, models and rating – we believe this provides a good opportunity for entering the wider reinsurance sector.

NB: Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Switzerland (e.g., French/German/Italian/ Spanish or any other EU-25 citizenship).
