Job Description - Sales Manager (Paper Chemical)

The PRTR Manufacturing Recruitment Team supports the global specialty chemicals company in Samutprakarn. Currently, we are looking for a Sales Manager who will be responsible for executing the annual operation plan in support of Thailand’s strategy and objectives. Works closely with Regional Sales Head and Business Development Managers to drive the growth and development of business in Thailand.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setting objectives and executing sales plans for the accounts in the responsible area, especially key accounts.
  • Measuring and reporting performance against these objectives, more importantly, developing and evolving action plans to make up the gaps if there are.
  • Understanding and identifying customers’ needs, more importantly offering value-added solutions to satisfy these needs.
  • Developing close customer relationships and understanding key customers’ s buying processes.
  • Creating profiles for and establishing contacts with every key customer in Thailand; understanding each company’s capabilities and limitations, grade mix, open market position, current sales channels, etc.
  • Developing sales and marketing presentations to customers and negotiating short and long-term contracts with customers.
  • Introducing new products and solutions to customers; diversifying business beyond current applications.
  • Providing monthly accurate sales forecasts for customers in the responsible area; monitoring and driving the sales accordingly.
  • Working with Regional Sales Head and Business Supports to ensure proper supply/demand balance.
  • Understanding the competitive environment, continuously collecting and reporting market trends, competitor activities, and technology changes.
  • Analyzing customer needs and providing updates on customer activities.
  • Providing a regular report to the Regional Sales Head on sales updates, value propositions, action plans, and evolving needs of customers.
  • Developing an open and trusting working relationship with company colleagues across the country.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in paper-making or chemical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of proven commercial & technical experience in the Paper Industry.
  • Successful experience in value selling in a production orientated cost-conscious environment
  • Technical service experience at a paper mill site, especially in maintaining chemical make-down equipment and instrument experience.
  • Paper making and paper chemical products knowledge.
  • Understand the importance of and focus on customer relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a good team player.
  • Business mindset and financial acumen.
  • Problem-solving and selling skills.
  • Independent, enthusiastic, and flexible to travel extensively.
