Position Title: Admissions Clerk / Registration Clerk
Location: Troy Regional Medical Center, Troy, AL

Troy Regional Medical Center seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Admissions Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for registering and admitting all patients presenting for testing, treatment, or admission—whether pre-registered or not. You will work closely with physicians’ offices and the Emergency Department to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and that all insurance verification and authorization requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register and admit patients efficiently, ensuring patient data is entered into the patient accounting system accurately and completely.
• Collaborate with physician offices and the Emergency Department to verify insurance information and ensure all required documentation is completed before admission.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect applicable co-payments and deductibles from patients during service.
• Ensure pre-authorizations and any other required approvals are obtained for pre-registered and non-pre-registered patients.
• Maintain a 95% accuracy rate for patient registration and admission data entry.
• Assist with initiating the pre-certification process before scheduling appointments when necessary.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and patient registration systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
