Job Description - Country Head of Sales - Trade Finance

We are looking for a Country Head of Sales - Trade Finance to join our team in Istanbul, Türkiye . In this role, you will be instrumental in driving DP World's Trade Finance Scale-up in Türkiye, overseeing product promotion and providing key sales support to achieve and exceed business plan objectives.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Overall responsible for the sales target, growth, PnL, product promotion and business development for Trade Finance business in the region 
  • Coordinate and work in harmony with DP World Trade Finance leadership team as well as the Regional DP World Organization(s) to build and deploy strategy to scale-up Trade Finance offering in Türkiye
  • In alignment with regional DP World/Imperial teams, target existing clients with trade finance offering and bring new ones 
  • Formulate and execute a clear and effective sales strategy and direction
  • Ensure comprehensive customer coverage; align sales efforts with the commercial strategy
  • Lead and develop activities to convert leads into wins, work closely with logistics team in Türkiye to ultimately increase top-line revenue
  • Arrange and execute customer visits with the intent to further develop DP World Trade Finance in the region and to support the logistics team in the region 
  • Manage and lead the efforts of Trade Finance specialists & Logistics Sales Organization to deliver against trade finance roll out objectives and scale up trade finance presence within the region
  • Bring alignment between the central Trade Finance team in Dubai and the logistics team in the region in building long term relationships with key contacts at target customers
  • Work closely with regional logistics BU’s to establish measurable objectives in terms of KPIs leading to setting up right incentive schemes for Logistics frontline sales teams
  • Manage communications between all the relevant stakeholders like regional BU heads, Logistics Head, other logistics key stakeholders and Trade finance management team including credit, operations, compliance, legal, finance and other trade finance country heads. Schedule relevant progress and steering calls to track and update progress
  • Establish and lead a team of Trade Finance experts in due course.
  • Own the business growth by analyzing sales trends, markets dynamics and reports to determine business growth potential 
  • Gather market & competitor intelligence to support DP World Trade Finance and the regional logistics team to capture new business opportunities

Own and Integrate Trade Finance P&L with Regional P&L 

  • Be the P&L owner for trade finance in Türkiye
  • Support with the annual budgeting exercise and updates
  • Ensure smooth roll out of budgeted TF numbers for each BU within the region 
  • Track delivery of regional frontline sales manager against trade finance revenue targets
  • Establish measurements to track incremental EBITDA derived through logistics offerings to Trade Finance Customers

Develop and scale up offering with DPW Logistics 

  • Lead the product development of bundled product offering of trade finance + logistics in the region and aim to leverage DPW assets on the ground
  • Work closely with frontline sales team in the region to develop bundled product offering (finance + logistics) to offer multiple DP World products and services to the customer
  • Establish and execute “Go to Market” strategy to scale up financing by DP World using bundled product offering in the region

Partnerships with Regional Banks, FIs and other Strategic Partners 

  • While companies will be the primary contact, liaise with existing and prospective Financial Institutions where applicable to support DP World Trade Finance by improving the customer experience and resolve client issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Support Trade Finance team to reach out to regional Banks and FIs by leveraging existing regional relationships with Banks/FIs’ with the objective of onboarding regional Banks/FIs on DPW Trade Finance platform
  • Coordinate with existing Banks/FIs’ for co-lending arrangements 

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in Trade Finance industry
  • 10+ years of experience in leadership position of leading sales organization
  • Experience owning P&L, working closely with Credit, Risk, Compliance and Legal Teams
  • Experience with cross border transactions and corresponding risk implications and work experience in regulated entity/environment is a plus
  • Good understanding of trade finance risks
  • Good understanding of Türkiye market specific conditions and risks
  • Excellent English & Turkish written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills
  • Keen attention to detail, adaptability and pragmatism; ability to manage an active caseload and prioritize effectively
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a proven track record in credit & risk matters
