We are looking to hire a DEPUTY PROJECT MANAGER for our office located in Istanbul, Türkiye.
This is an exciting role needing the right mix of professionalism, maturity and experience. This is a crucial position that provides first rate Administration and Accounting support both internally and externally. The right candidate will be someone with a good deal of experience in an international organization, comfortable with the unique demands of working with both local and international clients and colleagues. We're looking for a role holder who needs no encouragement to be proactive contributor of ideas, best practice suggestions and of course first class work.
We are now looking for a Deputy Local Project Manager for GEFF Türkiye who will report to both the Project Manager of the Facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
Harmonize, facilitate, and coordinate activities and communication between key stakeholders in the market, including EBRD, Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs), municipalities, suppliers, NGOs, governmental bodies, and final beneficiaries.
Act as a central point of contact for internal sub-teams (Financial, Engineering, Marketing) to ensure seamless integration of efforts.
2. Activity Planning and Monitoring:
Support the Project Manager in planning programme activities and ensuring they remain on schedule.
Regularly assess progress and identify potential risks, recommending precautionary measures to the Project Manager as needed.
3. Quality Assurance:
Ensure that Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) standards are consistently met throughout the programme.
Proactively suggest actions to address any gaps in quality or performance.
4. Management Information System:
Manage the Facilitys Management Information System (MIS) in collaboration with the Project Manager, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security.
5. Marketing Support:
Work closely with the Project Manager and Lead Marketing Expert to effectively market the GEFF programme and its offerings.
6. Financial Consistency:
Collaborate with Financial Experts to maintain consistency in approach and standards with all banks and leasing companies participating in the programme.
7. Technical Oversight:
Cooperate with the Chief Engineer to ensure quality control of technical deliverables.
Backstop the Chief Engineer for technical activities within the project as required.
8. Reporting:
Prepare all necessary reports for the EBRD in close collaboration with the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, finance, project management, or a related field.
Proven experience in project coordination, preferably within large-scale development programmes.
Familiarity with working alongside international financial institutions, municipalities, suppliers, and NGOs.
Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficiency in managing information systems and preparing detailed reports.
Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and ensure alignment of activities.
Fluency in Turkish and English (written and spoken) is required.
Familiarity with environmental finance, sustainability practices, and GEFF programmes is an asset.
