Electrical Technician

Key accountabilities

• Ensures all local building, fire and authority regulations including relevant standards, codes of practice and insurance requirements are enforced and observed.


• Ensures Engineering maintenance requests are carried out in a timely manner to a good standard in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintenance programme and operation schedule including but not limited to: house rules and regulation, health and safety, emergency response and standard operating procedures.


• Performs all electrical work including systems such as fire detection systems, BMS, CCTV, AV, Lighting Automation etc.  and provides regular maintenance, cleaning of the systems within the scope of the planned maintenance program.


• Keeps the transformer, generator, UPS, main distribution panels, sub-distribution panels and reactive power compensation system etc. in good working order .


• Performs isolation, thermal control and testing of portable and fixed electrical equipment.


• Cooperates and co-ordinates with all engineers and external contractors whenever necessary and interacts with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.

General requirements

• Have a strong experience in engineering operations and a good understanding of building service (including fire life safety systems).


• At least 3 years in a similar  engineering role within hotels.


• Certificate of Electrical Technician and similar.


• Self-starter, independent, good presentation, and problem-solving skills. Analytical, detailed oriented, organized, customer oriented, goals and result-oriented and articulate.


• Ability to contribute and initiate/lead environment and energy conservation programme, campaigned by the hotel.
