What awaits you in this role?

We are looking for a Lead Legal Counsel – Data Privacy  join our team at Legal & Compliance Directorate.

• You will provide direction and guidance to all teams on various complex data privacy projects,


• Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions on data privacy, 


• Support the implementation of Arçelik Global Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Program,


• Provide legal advice on various privacy and data protection issues, including compliance with the KVKK, GDPR  and data protection laws of other jurisdictions,


• Assist business units with understanding the Technical and Organizational Measures (TOMs),


• Implement and update privacy related procedures, best practices, and guidelines,


• Monitor changes in global Privacy & Data Protection laws and work with business to address these developments,


• Assist the Global Data Protection Officer in monitoring compliance with applicable laws and Arçelik Policies,


• Assist the Global Data Protection Officer in the event of regulatory audits, complaints and investigations,


• Provide advice on Records of Processing, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Transfer Impact Assessments.

The position is located in Sütlüce, İstanbul.

How do we describe the perfect match?

• Bachelor’s Degree in law,


• CIPPE and CIPPM qualifications are a plus,


• Multinational experience is desirable,


• A minimum of 7 years in the practice of law in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment, and be experienced legal professional with a full understanding of privacy and data protection legal issues (KVKK and GDPR),


• Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex data privacy questions relating to various business matters,


• The ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner,


• Competence in coordination and organization issues,


• Excellent verbal and written skills in English,


• Flexible and open to new perspectives and diversity,


• A great team player with a self-initiative mindset,
