Description

FMC HR is looking for a Plant Manager of our German client, a medium-sized and export-oriented company in the metalworking industry, manufacturing components and accessories for bearings and various other metal products with high precision and quality. The customers of our client include the leading international bearing manufacturers and the world market leaders in the field of mechanical and plant engineering, who value above all our client’s modern production facilities, excellent quality, high flexibility, and absolute customer orientation. The company currently employs 140 people in Germany and the course for further expansion has already been set.

With an aim to transfer its decades of know-how in industrial manufacturing, our client plans to set up a new manufacturing facility in Turkey with initially around 25 employees and high expansion potential. You will assume a high degree of responsibility in the set-up of this new plant, reporting directly to the Managing Director in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• The rare opportunity to manage the complete planning and set-up of the manufacturing facility “from scratch” with the support of our German team from all areas
• Participate in the selection and procurement of machinery and equipment
• Hire all necessary employees in Turkey with the support of our recruitment consultants
• Accomplish the set-up, organization and management of manufacturing, production and process planning, QA, purchasing, logistics – both in strategic aspects as well as in day-to-day “hands on” management on the shop floor
• Build up a network of reliable Turkish suppliers for all necessary tasks

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• University degree in engineering
• Several years of experience in setting up and managing a medium-sized plant in the field of metal processing, ideally machining production (milling & drilling) in Turkey
• Profound knowledge in the organization, management, and optimization of machining production
• Experience in the management of related areas: Purchasing, Production and Process Planning, QA, Logistics, etc.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is a must, German is a plus
• Senior, winning and assertive personality with solid experience in recruiting, developing and managing personnel
• High flexibility, commitment, and hands-on approach
• Advanced communication skills, detail-oriented and well-organized
