Job Description

• Execute power trading activities, including buying and selling electricity, Gas and other commodities in various markets.
• Monitor market conditions, analyze price trends, and identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Develop and implement effective trading strategies to optimize profitability and manage risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather market intelligence and align trading activities with business objectives.
• Utilize trading systems and tools to execute trades and manage positions.
• Monitor and manage trading risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market regulations, and policy changes that may impact power trading activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with external counterparts and stakeholders to facilitate trading activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis and trading performance.
• Execute the purchasing of contracts for over-the-counter electricity markets as part of the trading team.
• Proprietary trading activities

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in power trading or a similar role within the energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of power markets, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
• Proven track record of successfully executing power trades and delivering profitable results with multiple external stakeholders
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze market data and trends.
• Familiarity with trading systems and tools used in the energy industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the power trading industry.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and work on rotating shifts, if required.
• Knowledge of R, Python or SQL is a good plus
• Good command of English is essential both for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
