Job Description Summary

The Mechanical Analysis Team at GE Aerospace is looking for a Mechanical Analysis Intern with a passion for technical growth and a strong interest in finite element analysis (FEA).

During this internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience analyzing gas turbine engine hardware building and running FEA models with industry-standard tools, documenting results, and partnering with experienced engineers to support design decisions and hardware qualification

Site Overview:

GE Aerospace has an advanced engineering center located in İstanbul, Kartal, complemented by cutting-edge laboratories in Gebze, Kocaeli. Our offices in İstanbul and Ankara provide essential support to commercial and defense engines across the country. Our highly skilled engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center contribute to GE Aerospace’s engineering work on indigenous programs, new engine programs, software development, and additive manufacturing, supporting the country’s position as an advanced aerospace hub. Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Analysis Intern, you will support mechanical analysis for technology development and/or product programs. This position will help accelerate your engineering development through real project work, provide coaching, and exposure to cross-functional teams.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are a motivated engineering student with a fundamental knowledge in solid mechanics, strength of materials, and an interest in using FEA tools to solve real hardware problems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Part time working during the academic term (minimum 3 days a week)

  • Must remain enrolled as a student throughout the internship period

  • Coursework or project experience in strength of solid mechanics or finite element analysis

  • Proficient in MS Office Skills (especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

  • Eager to learn, open to communication, self-motivated, and willingness to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran) through coursework, research, or internships and

  • Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., NX/Unigraphics or similar).

  • Fundamental understanding of gas turbine engines.

  • Basic scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python or MATLAB) for data processing or workflow improvement.
