Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Partie (Bakery) to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our bakery department, you will lead the production of high-quality baked goods, pastries, and desserts for our esteemed guests, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.

  • Oversee daily bakery operations and food production, ensuring efficiency and quality
  • Create and prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts, following established recipes and standards
  • Develop and implement new bakery items, showcasing creativity and innovation
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed at all times
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow and timely food service
  • Participate in menu planning, cost control, and inventory management
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff
  • Maintain quality control checks and participate in food tasting panels
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of special events and banquets
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Stay updated on current baking trends and techniques, incorporating them into the menu when appropriate
  • Manage and organize the bakery section, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar bakery role, preferably in a high-end hotel or restaurant setting
  • Proven expertise in various bakery techniques and pastry making
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Creativity and passion for developing innovative bakery items
  • Proficiency in using bakery equipment and tools
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and recipe documentation
  • Menu planning and cost control abilities
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergen management
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
  • Familiarity with local and international baking techniques and trends
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of UAE food regulations and standards (preferred)
