Job Purpose:
The Contract Specialist plays a key role in managing and overseeing the full lifecycle of complex contractual agreements. This role ensures commercial integrity, legal compliance, and risk mitigation across high-value defense and aerospace programs. The incumbent will lead contract negotiations, support strategic procurement activities, and act as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of high-value, complex contracts including NDAs, MOUs, supplier agreements, international defense procurement contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure contractual compliance with UAE law, international standards, company policies, and defense sector regulations.
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including execution, amendments, renewals, extensions, and close-outs.
- Provide strategic contractual advice to project managers, procurement teams, legal counsel, and senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (legal, finance, compliance, PMO) to ensure alignment and adherence to contract terms.
- Support contract audits, due diligence activities, and internal/external compliance reviews.
- Maintain oversight of the contract database, KPIs, and performance metrics, ensuring visibility across the organization.
- Develop and improve contract templates, tools, and best practices to drive efficiency and standardization.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior contract officers and contribute to departmental capability building.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s or legal qualification is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in contract management, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or high-technology manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record managing contracts with government entities or military stakeholders.
- Experience with international defense contracting and offset programs is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of contract law, regulatory frameworks, and international procurement standards (e.g., FIDIC, FAR/DFARS).
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., Icertis, SAP Ariba, etc.)
- High level of commercial acumen and analytical thinking.
- Ability to handle complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Strong ethics, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
