THE ROLE:

The UX/UI Product Design Consultant will work with our development teams, envisioning and designing the desktop, web, and mobile applications we create.
You like to solve complex challenges and think outside the box. With strong written and verbal communication skills, you not only understand client requirements, but are comfortable making presentations.
This is a freelancer-type role for sporadic engagements with varying scope and duration.
THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defining User Experience: Owning the overall flow and layout of screens, the fields and information presented, available actions and interactions, and data visualizations for assigned projects.
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Collaborating with the client to solve complex workflow challenges, developing innovative ways to visualize market data, and proactively identifying essential tools and features that enhance the client's solution.
- Client Collaboration & Iteration: Thinking on your feet to sketch, present, iterate, and refine design ideas in real-time with clients, incorporating feedback efficiently.
- Exposure & Adaptability: Gaining broad exposure to diverse client business areas and a wide range of technologies, quickly learning new skills and terminology, and building rapport with various end-users.
- Project Delivery: Working closely with the product and development team to deliver design solutions that align with project timelines and client objectives.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 8+ years of solid experience in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design or Information Architecture including an ability to define and drive the process.
- Hands-on experience in user research, sketching solutions, wire-framing and final UI/Visual design.
- An abiding interest in and competence for solving real-world business problems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to influence client strategy, tactics, and perceptions.
- Determination to succeed despite obstacles and challenges, and a positive attitude favoring achievement of goals over open-ended investigation.
- Resourcefulness and independence.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or any design-related field is highly preferred.
- Registration as a freelancer in the UAE is mandatory for a candidate to be considered, this is not a full-time position.
- Candidates must have the portfolio .pdf file or link ready at screening
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Experience designing complex, interactive, transactional, enterprise-level, expert systems.
- Knowledge of, and strong demonstrated interest in, global financial markets and financial products.
- Excellent organisation skills striving for operational efficiency.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Ability to drive the product deliverables forward on time and at high quality.
- Experience operating within cross-functional teams.
- Corporate or retail banking experience.
- Responsive Web, Android, and iOS experience.
- Ability to work closely with other peers, the leads for product and engineering.
- Experience working in a consultancy environment a nice to have.
