Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage financial records accurately. Experience in the travel and tourism industry will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
3. Process employee payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement through the WPS.
4. Prepare and file UAE VAT returns and ensure compliance with applicable tax and financial regulations.
5. Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance.
6. Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
7. Coordinate with external auditors, banks, suppliers, and government authorities.
8. Maintain internal controls and recommend process improvements.
9. Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
10. Supervise and support junior accounting staff when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
3. Experience in the Travel & Tourism industry is an added advantage.
4. Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, payroll processing, WPS, and IFRS.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
