About IELTS and the department : IELTS is a highly regarded international test of English language proficiency. It is owned in partnership with IDP IELTS Australia, the British Council and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
IELTS is recognised by professional bodies, academic institutions, immigration authorities and government agencies alike as a dependable and practical test of English. It is primarily used by people seeking an international education, professional development, or by those seeking to satisfy migration requirements and is accepted by thousands of organisations in over 135 countries.
UOWD is an official International Test Centre for IELTS in the UAE and works in collaboration with IDP Australia. UOWD has been administering tests since 2000. Computer-delivered tests are conducted three times a day six days a week and a paper-based test is conducted weekly. Test staff and examiners are IELTS trained, bringing many years of professional experience in administering the test and examining candidates. UOWD also administers IELTS testing in Ras Al Khaimah.
Position Profile: The position of Customer Service and Test Administrative Officer supports the role of the IELTS Centre Administrator who is responsible for the secure and professional delivery of IELTS tests for the IDP at UOWD. This role is mainly responsible for lead conversions and registration for the IELTS test (IOC, PB) and OET.; facilitating with pre and post course test queries and responding to all enquiries in the IELTS and OET inbox on a daily basis. The role will also assist the College Admin Coordinators with GES Skills program and GES related activities.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:



Vocational or higher diploma or degree in office, IT or business administration or related field.
Office management skills including computer technology: MSWord, database systems, share drives.
High level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality in handling test information and materials.
Multi-tasking and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
The ability to follow procedures with an eye for detail.
The ability to follow instructions and adhere to procedural requirements.
Strong communication skills are required for handling all the interdepartmental and external relationships as well as for positive customer service.
Successful candidates must be able to work Saturdays when required on IELTS test days

Desirable:



Knowledge of the institutional structure of UOWD and IELTS would be an advantage.
An interest in developing the full potential of IELTS through promotions and marketing.
