Global Oil Gas Senior Safety Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Safety Engineer focusing on Drilling & Workover Operations to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP) which is the corporate safety organization within This Company.

Responsibilities:

1. Facilitating the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System along with its objectives and expectations.
2. Inspecting onshore and offshore drilling rigs, workover equipment, and other support facilities.
3. Identifying, evaluating, recommending actions, and following up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices.
4. Participating in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies.
5. Developing and/or reviewing corporate safety standards, instructions, and procedures related to upstream operations.
6. Reviewing designs of oil and gas field facilities for compliance with company and industry safety standards.
7. Assisting in the development of Emergency Response Plans for credible scenarios.
8. Responding to emergency situations and incidents providing technical assistance and advice.
9. Supporting the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents.
10. Delivering Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
11. Mentoring other Loss Prevention personnel.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an Accredited Institution.
• Seven years of relevant experience in the oil and gas upstream industry.
• Experience in various areas including drilling and workover operations, well planning, reservoir management, project management, oil and gas field development, offshore and onshore drilling rig safety inspections.
• Excellent communication skills in English capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
• Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
