We are seeking an analytical individual to join our team as a Strategic Specialist. In this role, you are expected to support the development of the corporate vision and strategies for designated business unit(s) and provide analytical support to the developing/reviewing/documenting and challenging of business and corporate strategies. The consultant executes multiple assigned projects to support strategic initiatives and operational planning, including framing the strategic approach for business unit(s), independently conducting analysis by collecting data and input from other parts of the organization. This role reports to the Head of Strategy & IT, Middle East.

Job Accountabilities

As Strategic Specialist, your role will involve:
Assist in strategy development and execution by identifying possible opportunities and solving pain-points. Monitor/review business progress (financial, metrics from the customer outcomes and experience, partner, people perspective) relative to business/operational plans, recommend and execute on measures for improvement. Conduct feasibility review by macro trends and competitive analysis, create business plans, engage with stakeholders for projects/initiatives. Program manager for regulatory changes and organization-wide initiatives cutting across functions. Evaluate key projects/initiatives to determine if key deliverables are being met and benefits are realized. Prepare documents for business updates, oversight reports for senior stakeholders. Gather market intelligence and build data models to support complex analyses. Identify gaps in analysis and additional analysis that should be conducted. Apply industry knowledge to own work and stay updated on changes in financial services, insurance, and workplace savings. Develop written communication in Power Point, Excel and Word that convey analyses and insights in a cohesive story., Participate in training and development of new hires. Nurture innovation by playing a part in initiatives within Zurich and in partnership with start-ups and innovation hubs in the region. Supervise and quality-assure the drafting of key policy documents to ensure full compliance to the organization´s rules and regulations governing transactions. Contribute to the development of processes in area of expertise and ensure they are in line with strategic objectives. Support key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement in their area of expertise to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction. Support the development of recommendations for new initiatives and areas of improvement within area of expertise to ensure the organization is cutting edge in this area. Develop budgetary plans and monitor and control expenditure for assigned projects to optimize business performance. Liaise with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a management consultant, strategy consultant, or in a similar strategic advisory role, preferably with a top-tier insurance, consulting, or banking firm. Strong understanding of strategic management frameworks, methodologies, and tools. Familiarity with business analysis techniques and financial modeling. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive actionable recommendations. Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making abilities, with a focus on long-term business growth and value creation. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Strong business acumen and understanding of various industries and sectors. Ability to quickly grasp the company’s business models, operations, and challenges. Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Management Consultant, Project Management Professional) are desirable but not mandatory.
