Job Description - Chief Engineer Safety Fire Fighting

KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES

1 Experienced in buildings facilities projects

2 Continuously review and update projects objectives to ensure conformity with clients strategic plan and objectives.

3 Oversee and ensure compliance of BFD Contractors and Service Providers with Clients Health Safety and Environment Management System (HSE MS) requirements.

4 Monitor and ensure the safe execution of maintenance construction and modification work within BFD facilities.

5 Implement and enforce the Permit to Work (PTW) procedure to ensure that work activities are conducted safely and in accordance with established protocols.

6 Conduct regular inspections and audits of BFD facilities equipment and work sites to identify and address potential health safety and environmental hazards.

7 Support in closing all HSE findings of Internal and External Audits Assessments and Inspections carried on or related to BFD.

8 Review and evaluate Method Statements and Risk Assessments for maintenance construction and modification activities to ensure adequacy and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

9 Analyze and maintain HSE statistics to track performance indicators trends and areas for improvement within BFD operations.

10 Review and provide feedback on HSE training materials and conduct HSE induction & training for new employees and contractors.

11 Lead or participate in incident investigations to determine root causes develop corrective actions and prevent recurrence of incidents.

12 Collaborate with BFD management and other stakeholders to develop and implement HSE policies procedures and initiatives.

13 Provide technical expertise and support to BFD personnel on HSE matters including interpretation of regulations standards and guidelines.

14 Liaise with regulatory agencies Sector QHSS office client Corporate HSE

Department and other external stakeholders on HSErelated matters as necessary.

15 Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments Buildings and Facilities premises owners contractors and service providers to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

16 Keep abreast of emerging HSE trends technologies and best practices to continuously improve BFD HSE performance.

17 Prepare and present HSE reports presentations and documentation to BFD management and other stakeholders as required.

18 Act as a champion for HSE excellence within BFD promoting awareness engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

19 Assist in the preparation of project plans and specifications when appropriate.

20 Perform other responsibilities associated with this position when appropriate.

Requirements

bachelor s degree in engineering from a recognized university required.

Minimum of 7 years experience in a large organization with particular emphasis on Project Management & coordination and related work experience in Dubai.

Possess excellent collaboration and public relations skills ability to perform.

Multitasking follow up and planning abilities time management and good computer skills.

Good communication skills fluent in report writing presentation skills and fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic preferred.

Ability to analyze complex problems and suggest appropriate solutions.

Ability to develop implement and evaluate administrative and management plans.

Main tasks: 1. Follow up on official correspondence and communications received by the Executive Director s Office, which include (letters, e-mails) to ensure that the necessary measures are taken. 2. Preserving correspondence, and official documents within an integrated document preservation system. 3. Follow up on the status of messages received from all sectors and departments of the Authority. 4. Preparing for the evaluation of the Office of the Executive Director. 5. Covering the duties of the Executive Director s secretary during his vacation. 6. Preparing monthly reports related to correspondence to the Executive Director. 7. Managing incoming/ outgoing correspondence from the Office of the Executive Director through the Tarasul system. 8. Follow up co-ordination with the office of the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors to ensure that all directives and instructions of the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors are implemented. 9. Ensuring that correspondences that do not have a specific end date are not delayed for more than two months. 10. Ensuring that all requirements are provided on time and that their completion is not delayed. 11. Receiving messages (forms, minutes of meetings) that require the approval of the Executive Director and sending them to the concerned authority upon approval. 12. Periodic follow-up and updating of the shared file. 13. Following up on matters related to the Office of the Executive Director and preparing and implementing the tasks assigned to me, including minutes of meetings, PowerPoint presentations
