Job Description
Purpose:
The position will predominately be based from home on call with 24 hours’ notice to travel both locally (within GCC countries) and internationally to service the needs of Forum Energy Technologies (FET). This will include supporting manufacturing plants on demand when and where required. There will also be a requirement for the Field Service Technician to work within the Service department repairing and overhauling oilfield equipment and also supporting the refurbishment Project Manager when and where required. The suitable candidate must be fluent in Arabic.
Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)
• Work in a competent, safe and professional manner, to serve both internal and external customers both locally and internationally.
• Participate and contribute to successful testing and installation of all FET manufactured equipment.
• Promote a professional attitude while working with the client.
• Safe and timely installation of all FET manufactured equipment globally.
• Provide specific equipment training to Customer employees after installation.
• Ensure all operations are carried out in line with FET guidelines and procedures.
• Attending pre and post job meetings.
• Liaise with the customer reps to ensure their requirements are fully met.
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork including job logs, expenses and NCR’s are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
• Attend various training courses when requested.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and assist in training; mentor less experienced personnel prior to going solo.
• Any other duties as directed by the Service management team.
• Quality assurance - All staff are responsible for the completeness of their work and reporting any quality, or perceived quality problems through their line manager or direct to the QHSE Manager. Job Requirements
Education / Qualifications (essential):
• ONC/HNC qualifications or time served in a Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
Education / Qualifications (desirable):
• Offshore survival.
• Offshore medical.
Key Skills (essential):
• Fluent in Arabic
• Ability to travel to various locations internationally.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work alone in a very demanding and varying environment.
• Good health and safety awareness.
• Team player.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Experience (essential):
• Experience in troubleshooting, overhauling catwalks and iron roughnecks.
• Experience on Rigs – well versed with regulations and safety.
• Holds knowledge of material and testing procedures.
• Good knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, electronic or software systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience (desirable):
• Overseas travelling.
• Offshore experience.
QHSE Competencies:
*• Maintain behavior in compliance with Forum HSE requirements.
• Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behavior.
