Job Purpose:
A Senior Procurement Officer performs sourcing and contracting activities relating to the organization sourcing requirements in accordance with the organization Procurement Policy. The role activity may include sourcing activity recognized as strategic, tactical, and transactional sourcing initiatives with regular interaction with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute responsibilities for conducting sourcing initiatives:
• Issue RFx to market vendors
• conduct high level technical and commercial evaluations
• carry out effective transactional negotiations to ensure best value sourcing
• manage contract finalization process for sourcing
• manage the creation/ issuance of Purchase Orders to vendors
• Manage relationships with vendors ensuring timely delivery of quality goods and services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide strategic advice.
• Mentor and train junior procurement staff to enhance their skills.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities.
• Deliver annual KPIs and within process compliance (sourcing, RFx, contract negotiation, legal terms, PO issuance, approval authorities, vendor management)
• Customer/internal stakeholder customer satisfaction results (surveys, KPIs, SLAs)
• Identify cost optimization (cost saving) opportunities and contribute to the department targets.
• Ensure a customer service orientated approach in providing for stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure ethical practices in managing sourcing activities for the organization.
• Manage reporting requirements for the department regarding KPIs,
Education:
• High school or Bachelors degree
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement sourcing and contracting activities within a corporate organization
• Experience in conducting the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle
Other Skills Required for the Job:
• Team player and enjoys a fast paced working environments
• A strong and confident communicator (verbal and written) and strong negotiator who can effectively manage relationships that are widely dispersed both functional and potentially geographically.
• Attention to detail, ensuring diligence and accuracy in performing their activities with prompt responses and drive closure of tasks within SLA
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to align with business strategy and engage management to re-enforce the value of the procurement department
• Ability to operate within a matrix performance driven structure
• Confident change agent, with the ability to make things happen, gain traction quickly and be motivated by successful delivery
