Description:

you will play a critical role in our organization by ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our medical claims. You will review medical claims for errors, fraud, and abuse, and make recommendations for improvement. In this role, you will use your knowledge of medical billing and coding to ensure that our claims are accurate and meet all relevant regulations. You will also work with our medical billing and coding staff to train them on best practices. This is a critical role in our organization, and we are looking for a highly-qualified and experienced medical auditor.

Responsibilities:

• Review medical records to ensure that documentation meets all requirements for billing and coding
• Identify errors in documentation and work with providers to correct them
• Educate providers on proper documentation techniques
• Stay up-to-date on current coding guidelines and regulations
• Ensure that claims are submitted in a timely manner and meet all deadlines
• Verify that claims have been processed correctly and appeal any denied claims
• Review provider contracts to ensure that billing and coding comply with the terms of the agreement

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field
• 5+ years experience in auditing, with at least 2 years in healthcare auditing
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
