Job Description - Cyber Security Engineer

Job Description: Our client operates in the mining and marine industry and is seeking a Group HR and Crewing Manager, to report to the CEO, CFO and COO, who will play a vital role in heading the Company’s HR Department and fulfilling its human capital needs, managing employee relations, staff benefits and making sure that the Company complies with Labour and SHES.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business.
  2. Manage employee relations and industrial relations by addressing demands, grievances, disciplinary procedures, employee recognition programs or other.
  3. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human resources.
  4. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives and supports staff.
  5. Develop and review KPI documents with Line Managers prior to performance evaluations for all departments being carried out.
  6. Prepare Annual HR Budget with quarterly Management Reporting and provide decision support to Exco through HR.
  7. Collect and analyze employee data for internal use by Human Resource Management and Planning in accordance with the Company’s strategic departmental organograms and budgets applicable to the Group (HR Department to provide budgets for all Group HR requirements per department).
  8. Ensuring that all offices/vessels/companies comply with the HR statutory regulations applicable to the industry and company’s line of work.
  9. Manage the full recruitment and selection process for both office-based employees and sea crew (Local and Foreign).
  10. Related to the Group’s work locations (Namibia, South Africa, Angola), ensure that for all personnel, crews attending these countries have the necessary work visas, permits, and restricted area permits.
  11. Manage and maintain the correct ethnical ratio of employment in terms of the relevant Legislation and Employment Plans in place, within the country of work and ensure implementation of transformation and integration goals (BEE and CSI and Employment Equity).
  12. Work on strategic planning with Training Officer to ensure that a pool of talent that is ready for staffing and succession planning both for office and offshore.
  13. Act as Company HR Liaison between governmental organizations and the Group and manage Company risk by being compliant and staying abreast with all Governing Legislation and statutory reporting.
  14. Participation in Governmental Audits to explain and demonstrate compliance to visiting officials.
  15. Ensure that an annual rolling rotation schedule is maintained, for all the Offshore Mining, Nautical crews and specialized office staff.
  16. Maintenance of leave balances and reports for all Group Employees (office and sea crew). This includes the management of sea crew leave balances to ensure strategic rotation for reducing and eliminating sea/incentive leave.
  17. Review in consultation with the COO and CFO of the HOD’s overtime requests for all employees, ensuring compliance to Company HR policies and procedures prior to overtime being approved.
  18. Manage special and planned Organizational Development (OD) projects and Skill Development programs – ensuring all requirements are met, learners enrolled in the program with supporting documentation and invoices sent to the FP & M Seta.
  19. Oversee crew management and planning for all vessels with Logistics.
  20. Maintain and constantly review crew rotation schedules for optimal operational efficiency.
  21. Oversee crew-related logistics (travel documents, embarkations, repatriations, visas and work permits, special restricted area permits, medical certificates) ensuring all staff/crew have the valid relevant documentation and is saved on the system.
  22. Managing the ARGO Nautical crew requirements in accordance with the ARGO crew contract and set standards.
  23. Manage and maintain with the assistance of the Group’s security personnel, the periodical polygraph session for the crew and persons working in restricted areas (results of these polygraphing will remain with security, COO and/or CEO).
  24. Must be available as the main point of contact for all crew members and provide support to Offshore Managers/superintendents on personnel issues such as disciplinary corrective actions.
  25. Have daily contact with the dedicated vessel offshore managers and maintain all HSE reporting from vessels and to the relevant authorities.

Requirements:

Qualification and Skill:
Grade 12 Matric
Human Resources Management Degree
At least 5 years’ experience in human resource
Offshore HR Environment experience
Valid passport
Valid Seafarers Medical certificate
Valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) – will be done by Company
