Job Description - Senior Human Resources Specialist

Job Scope:

The Senior Specialist – HR is accountable for implementing effective people strategies through a close coordination with employees, line managers and key stakeholders. S/He acts as a point of reference on all HR functional areas and maintains an effective level of business literacy on the company, its products/services and external environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to line management and employees on HR functional areas including onboarding, employee relations, reporting and involvement with Talent Acquisition.
  • Participate in the full recruitment cycle and onboarding formalities.
  • Update, develop and monitor HR policies and SOP’s and related forms as well as job descriptions and organizational charts for all departments.
  • Participate as required in the implementation of the yearly performance appraisal cycles providing support and guidance to employees and line managers where needed.
  • Prepare periodic reports providing insights to management.
  • Maintain and update the HR database, records and employee files while monitoring schedules, attendance and leaves for proper action.
  • Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.
  • Conduct exit interviews identifying trends and remedial actions.
  • Ensure that probation meetings are conducted and forms are filled in due time.
  • Work closely with the Center of Excellence to identify and fulfill specific employee and organizational needs.
  • Manage and solve employee relations, address performance concerns and other related issues and escalate to direct manager when and as needed.
  • Partner with other departments such as Finance, Legal and IT achieving shared organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements, local labor laws and HR best practices reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assess and improve work relationships through creating a motivating environment to increase productivity and accomplishments.
  • Coordinate in the planning of HR initiatives and events focused on enhancing employee engagement and company culture.
  • Support in the implementation of HR projects across all departments.

Position Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or any other related field

Qualifications/Skills

  • CIPD or SHRM is a plus

Experience

  • Proven experience in adding value by effectively implementing HR processes on both strategic and operational level including recruitment, employee relations, orientation and key HR administrative activities
  • IT industry experience is a plus. Regional experience is a plus.
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases (SAP success factors would be a bonus)
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor practices and HR best practices
  • 5+ years of previous work experience as an HR generalist.
  • Team Player
  • Project management and change management skills is plus
  • Excellent communication in Arabic, English and French are a plus
  • Industry knowledge is a plus
  • Strong business acumen, time management and setting priorities
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
