Role Overview
As a CBRE Health, Safety, and Environment Manager, you’ll be tasked with developing and executing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs for a national data center client.
This role falls under the Environment Health and Safety function, which oversees organizational programs and procedures aimed at safeguarding employees and neighboring communities.
Responsibilities
– Lead HSE programs and initiatives to fulfill regulatory requirements and address the client account’s HSE needs. Assess the suitability of new and existing programs and determine the necessity for modifications.
– Oversee the development and implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to align with regulatory requirements and the client account’s HSE needs.
– Assist in implementing and reviewing playbooks and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in HSE initiatives.
– Manage initiatives aimed at achieving regulatory, legal, and compliance obligations.
– Monitor operational and safety risks and develop strategic risk management approaches to mitigate potential incidents.
– Track injury, illness, and incident reports within the account and provide recommendations for risk prevention.
– Monitor HSE regulatory compliance within the account and collaborate with management to devise strategic solutions for improvement and maintenance.
– Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential concerns and communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to relevant functional managers.
– Identify opportunities for cost reduction while enhancing service quality for the client/account.
– Foster safety awareness among employees by providing accurate data, conducting safety meetings, offering timely feedback on safety suggestions, and visibly supporting safety programs.
– Serve as an HSE subject matter expert and resource for staff and employees.
– Demonstrate leadership by modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values and influencing parties toward shared agreements.
– Apply knowledge of own discipline to achieve team and departmental objectives.
– Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues, whether evident in existing systems and processes or not.
– May require travel up to 20% as necessary.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
– Demonstrated familiarity with federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations is highly desirable.
– Experience in manufacturing, construction, and/or facility maintenance and management is preferred.
– Additional certifications as required by local authorities, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), are preferred.
– Ability to effectively manage the exchange of sensitive, complex, and challenging information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
– Leadership skills to inspire team impact on job discipline and departmental quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
