Job Description - Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer - Measurement Solutions



Emerson, Measurement Solution is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help us implement efficient manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products. Measurement Solutions is part of Emerson that has Rosemount product offering which includes a complete line of pressure, temperature, flow, level, and safety measurement instrumentation. Throughout the process industries, Rosemount devices are specified more often than any other brand of process instrumentation.



In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:




  • Apply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and moderate job experience, in the development of products and/or processes.

  • Work involves choosing between alternative proven technologies with some originality and moderate technical risk.

  • Design and/or develop manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Recommend design changes to reduce costs, improve quality and increase product performance.

  • Solve production problems and lead to discrepant material reviews.

  • Participate in plant layout activities.

  • Interact on a regular basis with other functional groups and customers or vendors on technical and/or administrative matters.

  • Recommend the resources to be committed to customers and vendors in the best interest of Rosemount.

  • Work with Production, Production Control, Quality and other engineering departments.

  • Assist in the selection of personnel for assigned projects.

  • Assist Marketing by providing technical, cost, or schedule information.

  • Train Technician & Instrument Builders.

  • Develop and approve schedule achievements, coordinate workforce, facility and equipment requirements for assigned projects.

  • Administer technical procedures including process and work procedures.

  • Implement industrial engineering system (standard cost data, capacity and equipment requirement forecasting, shop floor control system).

  • Initiate and implement engineering change authorizations. Cost estimating and reporting system. Help identify and prioritize opportunities.

  • Participate and lead Lean and six sigma improvement teams.

  • Develop, implement, and perform work unit(s) preventive maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain methods to ensure compliance with quality assurance systems.

  • Actively participate in process improvement teams and assist in the introduction of new/revised processes/products to the manufacturing system.

  • Follow and assure safety guidelines are being met and report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervision. Participate in addressing and implementing corrective action.

  • Perform electronic transactions within the business operating system.

  • May maintain customer order status and communicate status to contracts administrator/customer service groups.

For this Role, You Will Need:




  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience

  • Knowledgeable of manufacturing systems - ISO 9001 quality management system, Kanban, 5S and DMAIC problem solving process.

  • Power BI knowledge

  • Strong communication skills
