Job Description - Senior Business Development Manager

Job Overview:

A market leader in pharma manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Business Development for a temporary role lasting 3 to 6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new molecular entities, conducting comprehensive market analyses, and negotiating with vendors to facilitate the registration and in-licensing of new molecules. The role will have a strong focus on the specialties of oncology, Alzheimer’s disease, and hematology.

Key Responsibilities:

Molecule Identification:

  • Search for and identify new molecular entities with potential therapeutic benefits in oncology, Alzheimer’s disease, and hematology.
  • Assess scientific literature, clinical trial data, and competitive landscape to evaluate the potential of new molecules.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to understand the commercial potential of identified molecules.
  • Analyze market trends, patient demographics, and competitive products to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed market analysis reports and presentations for senior management.

Vendor Negotiation:

  • Engage with potential vendors and partners to explore collaboration opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations on terms and conditions for licensing agreements, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate smooth negotiation processes.

Registration and In-Licensing:

  • Oversee the registration process of new molecules, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to complete in-licensing agreements.
  • Ensure timely and efficient completion of all registration and in-licensing activities.

Project Management:

  • Planning and managing the entire project lifecycle from molecule acquisition to market launch.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and execution.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new molecules, including market entry plans, marketing tactics, and sales strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on oncology, Alzheimer’s disease, or hematology.
  • Proven track record in identifying and evaluating new molecules, conducting market analysis, and negotiating with vendors.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment and in-licensing processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
