About the job Workshop Supervisor
Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality metering and packaged process systems for the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and Power Generation industries, with a presence in the UK and Russia. They are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join their team in Dubai.
The workshop supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of staff, production tasks, and the safe and efficient running of the workshop and stores.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- You will be the first point of contract for workshop and stores
- Implement Planning and monitoring work within the workshop
- Carry out time and motion studies, set staff production time targets
- Supervise stores activities, including goods in, stock control, packing and loading goods onto vehicles
- Conduct and supervise BOM build picking and replacement of items within WIP.
- Conduct and supervise processing of Stock Issue / Returns Chits for the issuing and return of stock items.
- Raise and supervise routine rolling stock checks of company inventory.
- Monitor daily attendance and sickness
- Complete return to work forms and holiday approvals
- Monitor daily time keeping of staff
- Complete staff annual reviews
- Carry out interviews and appointments of new recruits
- Maintain quality requirements
- Ensure production is carried out in accordance with assembly procedures
- Monitor staff work performance, carry out time, motion studies, implement efficiency improvements
- Maintaining safe working practises, keeping COSHH information up to date and ensuring everybody is conversant with this information.
- During busy periods, undertake manufacturing tasks and assist the through put of work through the workshop.
- Responsible for the stores consumable budgets and workshop tooling budgets
- Purchase of workshop related equipment to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of production areas.
Training and support:
- Mentoring Hands-on, in-house supervision training In-house stores training
- External IOSH Managing safety safely
- External Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3
Requirement:
- Excellent written and oral English
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in workshop environment.
