Airport Agent - Porter Driver

Area of Responsibility

• Airside  – Ramp & Cargo

Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to load and unload passenger baggage and freight onto / from the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner. To ensure that the correct and accurate loading and unloading of aircraft as detailed by the CPM or LIR. To ensure consistent delivery of high performance standards within the time constraints of the service level agreements of the customer airlines, whilst maintaining Health & Safety and good working practices in line with company policy. 

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure all activities are in compliance with Sharjah Aviation Services customer airlines and the regulators procedures.

• To ensure companys uniform and grooming standards are being adhered to at all times.

• To handle the company and airline property with extra care while ensuring no damage occurs

Accountabilities

• To assist the Team Leader with the smooth turnaround of aircraft.

• To work closely with the Team Leader and to follow his instructions to ensure that services are provided in a safe manner and customer requirements are met

• Collect and dispose any  F.O.D. in the appropriate manner

• Understanding and acting upon all prevailing Airport Notices and instructions Company instruction.

• Wingman and passenger escort duties as required.

• Ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to and the reporting of those that are not.

• Escorting of staff on a temporary pass.

• Ensuring Company procedures discipline and performance are met.

• Ensuring Airport Security requirements are adhered to.

• Representing the Company in a professional manner.

• To work in each area of the business as required by the workloads.

• Any other duties and responsibilities that the Company requires in order to achieve the smooth running of the operation.

• To accurately complete the necessary reporting forms daytoday

• Correct tiedown procedures in line with IATA guidelines

• To ensure that the relevant Health and Safety and company policy requirements are fully complied with

• To ensure all activities are in compliance with Sharjah Aviation Services customer airlines and the regulators procedures.

Airport Agents  Drivers

• Use of a baggage tug flat bed lorry baggage conveyor belt GPU FEP aircraft steps and onboard plane systems after training.

• Chocking and powering of aircraft.

• Delivery of baggage and or freight to the aircraft side

• Delivery of baggage to the arrivals belt and unloading of baggage onto the reclaim belt if required

• Delivery of baggage to the Transfer Unit Drop Off Point

• Delivery collection of Freight to from the cargo shed as required.

• Delivery collection of empty containers to from the appropriate storage area.

• Reporting of defective equipment.

• Ensuring equipment is kept clean and tidy and is stored in the correct area and manner.

Qualifications

High School Diploma

Experience

• At least 1 year experience in related field

• Ability to read/write in English language
