Description
As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Garden department's buying activities. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Buyer in negotiating with suppliers, managing product listings and inventory for online and cash & carry channels, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. You will be part of a dynamic team, working closely with the Product Development department to drive the company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

Assist the Buyer in negotiating and finalizing purchase orders with suppliers.
Manage and update product listings and pricing for the E-commerce platform and Cash & Carry stores.
Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed buying decisions.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging product descriptions and content.
Ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any supply chain issues.
Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
Assist in developing and implementing effective merchandising strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Support the Buyer in creating and executing seasonal buying plans.
Provide excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries and feedback.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
1-2 years of experience in a buying or merchandising role, preferably in the garden or home improvement industry.
Excellent knowledge of buying processes and supply chain management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in using MS Office and ERP systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for garden products and design.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to learn and grow.
