Assistant Cook / Commis Chef - Traditional Restaurant in Europe

Our client, a traditional restaurant specializing in traditional Montenegrin cuisine, barbecue, and local cooked dishes, is seeking Assistant Cooks / Commis Chefs to support its kitchen operations in Montenegro, Europe. The kitchen values teamwork, care in preparation, and a dependable service mindset to help deliver a strong dining experience every day.

In this role, you will support the kitchen team in preparing dishes that reflect the restaurant's style and standards. Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs in preparing traditional dishes, barbecue items, and other menu selections.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and organizing food items.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and instructions from the head chef or senior kitchen staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in food preparation and cooking areas.
• Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor ingredient availability and inform senior kitchen staff when supplies are running low.
• Clean and maintain kitchen tools and equipment after use.
• Follow kitchen procedures and health and safety requirements.

• 1-2 years of kitchen experience in a restaurant or similar food-service environment.
• Culinary certificate, diploma, or hospitality training.
• Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment used for basic food preparation, barbecue, and traditional cooked dishes.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Podgorica, Montenegro, for a one-year contract.

Monthly salary of €900 on a one year contract, shared accommodation, 1 day off per week and a flight ticket provided, with the cost reimbursed upon arrival if initially paid by the candidate
