Assistant Manager - Landscaping

The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for providing Landscaping expertise and measuring performance and end user satisfaction in line with the Landscaping contract schedule and contracted key performance indicators. This position is responsible for the maintenance and development of the community grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

Operational Responsibilities:

• Under the guidance of the FM Manager Community Service, oversees all day-to-day operational aspects of landscaping operations across the Expo city footprint
• Providing landscaping expertise independently from the main landscaping contractor, proving ideas that will enhance the look and feel of the existing landscaping around the city
• To be the POC between all Expo city stakeholders and the Landscaping contractor providing landscaping advice and expertise when required to do so and being the voice of the Expo City Community management team relating to all matters concerning landscaping
• Working with the FM community management team and Master developer to provide landscaping expert advice relating to planning, designing, and implementing landscaping projects, such as designing gardens, installing irrigation systems, or creating urgent landscape schedules
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, government agencies, Master Developer and other consultants as needed
• Conducting random audits of all maintenance of plants, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation to confirm it is in accordance with environmental regulations and contractual obligations
• Working with the Master developer design team to assist in developing plans for new construction projects such as roads or residential subdivisions to ensure that there is consistency from a construction perspective and Community requirement
• Ensuring that the community grounds are safe by identifying any potential hazards and taking appropriate measures to eliminate them
• Providing an independent opinion for any estimation of costs for labor and materials needed for special projects, and estimating the time required to complete projects so that we can cross check against the Contractor rate card to ensure
• Expo City is getting best value to ensure that overall operational performance targets are achieved in relation to service quality, contract (project) costs, and visitor expectations
• Working with the Manager of the Master Community to develop and implement new activities so that the Contractor remains committed to a continuous improvement approach
• Conduct regular audits on the Landscaping contractor to ensure they are maintaining an accurate stock-take on a quarterly basis along with appropriate management and maintenance of all landscape equipment.
• Working with the main landscaping contractor to ensure that planed work schedules, hours, and job duties are adequate so services are rendered to all areas
• Performing tasks related to the design and construction of facilities such as parks or recreational area

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are adhered to, specifically to include all responsibilities and accountabilities associated with the Expo City Dubai Health and Safety Policy and assurance standards
• Report unsafe conditions and conduct research to improve service quality and safety standards.
