Cardiothoracic Surgeon

As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will employ your skills in diagnosing and treating patients through advanced surgical techniques and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of patients referred for surgical intervention related to heart and thoracic diseases.
• Design and implement individualized surgical treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Perform a range of surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, and various thoracic operations.
• Adhere to the latest minimally invasive surgical methods to optimize recovery times and outcomes for patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management before and after surgery.
• Monitor patient progress during the recovery phase, promptly addressing any complications that may arise.
• Maintain appropriate and accurate medical records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
• Engage in clinical research and educational initiatives to advance cardiothoracic surgical practices and knowledge.

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a General Surgery residency and a Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship.
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Demonstrated proficiency in a wide array of surgical techniques and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy as well as pathophysiology.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care.
• Ability to make timely decisions in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
• Valid medical license to practice in the state.
