Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed evaluations and diagnostic procedures for patients with potential heart and chest conditions.
• Design and execute individualized surgical treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Conduct high-stakes surgical procedures including but not limited to open-heart surgery, thoracic surgical interventions, and minimally invasive techniques.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical personnel to deliver comprehensive surgical services.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring patient safety and the effectiveness of surgical outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing patient education, empowering patients and families with knowledge about surgical procedures and recovery.
• Participate in research and clinical trials aimed at advancing cardiothoracic surgical practices.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records per institutional and regulatory guidelines.

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a General Surgery residency and an intensive Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship.
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Proficiency in a variety of complex surgical techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy and pathology.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Aptitude for making critical decisions in fast-paced surgical environments.
• Commitment to ongoing education and advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.
• Valid and active medical license to practice in the state.
