Job Description - Chief Steward

Supports the smooth running of thestewarding department, supporting the kitchen and food &beverage departments to focus on delivering all aspects of theguest food & beverage experience throughout the Hotel tothe highest level
Works proactively to improveguest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timelyresponse to guest enquiries and problemresolution
Delivers on plans and objectiveswhere stewarding initiatives & hotel targets areachieved
Supervises the stewarding teamfostering a culture of growth, development and performance withinthe department
Accountable for ensuring thatcosts and inventory are controlled, that productivity andperformance levels are attained
Builds andmaintains effective working relationships with all keystakeholders
Takes ownership of the planneddeep cleaning and preventative maintenance programme to maintainhigh cleanliness standards and address maintenancematters
Ensures adherence and compliance to alllegislation where due diligence requirements and best practiceactivities are planned, delivered and documented for internal andexternal audit, performing follow-up asrequired
