Job Description - Cleaner

Clean building floors by sweeping,mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Gatherand empty trash.
Service, clean, and supplyrestrooms.
Follow procedures for the use ofchemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damageto floors and fixtures.
Monitor buildingsecurity and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors afteroperating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensurethat hazards are not created.
Notify managersconcerning the need for major repairs or additions to buildingoperating systems.
Requisition supplies andequipment needed for cleaning and maintenanceduties.
Set up, arrange, and removedecorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to preparefacilities for events such as banquets andmeetings.
Spray insecticides and fumigants toprevent insect and rodent infestation.
Cleanand polish furniture and fixtures.
Cleanwindows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or othercleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dustfurniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Mixwater and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaningsolutions, according tospecifications.
Steam-clean or shampoocarpets.
