Commercial Director Facilities Management

Black Pearl Consult is supporting a confidential search for a senior Commercial Director to lead commercial, contract, procurement, and supplier management activities across a large-scale facilities management operation.

The role will be responsible for strengthening commercial governance, contract performance, cost control, procurement effectiveness, and supplier accountability across a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall commercial and procurement strategy across facilities management operations.
  
  


• Oversee contract lifecycle management, including tendering, negotiations, renewals, SLAs, KPIs, and performance reviews.
  
  


• Manage commercial risk, contractual obligations, budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  
  


• Develop sourcing and procurement strategies to improve cost efficiency, service quality, and supplier value.
  
  


• Establish robust supplier performance frameworks and ensure contractors meet agreed commercial and operational standards.
  
  


• Provide commercial guidance to operational teams on contract interpretation, claims, variations, and performance issues.
  
  


• Lead and develop commercial, contracts, and procurement teams while managing key client and stakeholder relationships.

To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial, contracts, procurement, or related leadership roles.
  
  


• Strong experience managing large-scale facilities management contracts or multi-service operational portfolios.
  
  


• Proven expertise in contract management, procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance management.
  
  


• Strong commercial and financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and risk management.
  
  


• Experience working within complex environments such as large infrastructure, major developments, mixed-use assets, or high-footfall facilities.
  
  


• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, governance, and team leadership capabilities.
  
  


• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Contract Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
