About the role

Reporting to the CEO, Fasset is seeking a Compliance Officer (Manager) based in Dubai, UAE to support the establishment and maintenance of an effective Compliance Program, including exam management, advice on the impact of new regulations, and anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) systems and controls.

What you'll do

• Develop and manage Fasset’s compliance policies and processes


• Ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting


• Coordinate various regulatory filings


• Focus on internal compliance policy review, including ongoing assessments, assisting with compliance review, internal audit reviews and ongoing or ad hoc reviews


• Maintain all external Ireland Compliance relationships with: i) regulators; ii) banking partners; iii) industry working groups; and iv) third-party Compliance vendors


• Assist in the development of training materials


• Provide statistics on monitoring completion as needed


• Make recommendations for enhancing the firm’s systems, controls and processes


• Manage and implement appropriate AML and CTF policies and procedures


• Ensure AML and CTF requirements are considered as part of the development of new products or service changes


• Maintain up-to-date AML documentation


• Assist in developing reports to the Board on a regular basis detailing the operation and effectiveness of the systems and controls used to combat financial crime


• Arrange and assist with regulatory visits and audit inspections


• Maintain an internal reporting process for receiving internal Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)


• Manage monitoring registers and other records necessary to evidence efforts


• Assist with maintaining overall compliance with the requirements and obligations prescribed by COAF (Council for Financial Activities Control), authorities and other relevant authorities
  

What you'll bring

Must have

• Proven interest and/or experience in the fintech sector


• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a risk, fraud, compliance, AML or regulatory function; experience working with a regulated financial services business in legal or compliance roles preferred


• Professional certification in compliance risk management


• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization, maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations


• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel


• Good understanding of performing risk assessments, periodic/trigger reviews and enhanced due diligence


• Proficiency in compliance applications and programmes


• Ability to carry out the necessary studies to ensure compliance with issued regulations, and to provide necessary communication and coordination with the FIU


• Proactive, diligent team player


• Virtual assets / crypto experience
