Consultant Cardiologist Electrophysiology - Abu Dhabi

Role Overview

A leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled consultant cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Electrophysiology. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex arrhythmias, performing advanced electrophysiological procedures, and contributing to the development of a high-performing cardiac rhythm management program.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and management of patients with arrhythmias, syncope, and conduction disorders
• Perform advanced electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations, and device implantations (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs)
• Interpret ECGs, Holter monitors, event recorders, and other rhythm diagnostics
• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and imaging specialists in multidisciplinary care
• Participate in electrophysiology lab development, quality assurance, and technology upgrades
• Mentor junior physicians and contribute to continuing medical education
• Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and international clinical standards

Qualifications & Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology
• Subspecialty fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology
• Board-certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience, including consultant-level practice in electrophysiology
• Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi)
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with advanced mapping systems (e.g., CARTO, EnSite)
• Skilled in managing atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and complex device therapies
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Interest in clinical research, innovation, or EP program development
