Consultant Fetal Medicine - Saudi Arabia

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Consultant Fetal Medicine will be responsible for diagnosing and managing complex fetal conditions, offering expert advice and interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby. This is a full-time role based in Saudi Arabia, offering an attractive remuneration package and excellent career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and treatment procedures for fetuses with congenital anomalies, growth disorders, and other fetal conditions.

• Utilize the latest technology and equipment to perform detailed fetal scans, including fetal echocardiograms.

• Provide expert consultations to obstetricians and gynecologists on high-risk pregnancies and fetal conditions.

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including neonatologists, pediatric cardiologists, and geneticists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

• Perform in-utero fetal therapy procedures, such as fetal blood transfusions and surgeries.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all patient information, ensuring patient confidentiality is always maintained.

• Participate in research and academic activities, including publishing scientific papers and presenting at conferences.

• Mentor and guide junior staff, including medical residents and fellows, to ensure excellence in patient care and continue the education and research mission of the department.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized university.

• Completion of a fellowship program in fetal medicine or equivalent. American, Canadian, UK, or European board certification in fetal medicine will be highly regarded.

• Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in fetal medicine, including experience in a high-volume setting.

• Experience in advanced fetal imaging, including fetal echocardiograms, is essential.

• Strong track record of research and publication in the field of fetal medicine.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.

• Candidates must have Western education/training.
