Consultant General Surgeon (Burns) - Abu Dhabi

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Burns to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. This role involves providing advanced surgical care for patients with severe burns, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes through reconstructive and critical care interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex burn surgeries, including:
  • Skin grafting and tissue reconstruction
  • Debridement and wound management
  • Microsurgical techniques for severe burns
  • Post-burn scar revision and functional restoration
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, including plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and critical care specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Ensure strict adherence to patient safety protocols, infection control measures, and surgical best practices.
• Conduct clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education programs within the burns surgery department.
• Provide long-term rehabilitation strategies for burn patients, including physiotherapy and psychological support.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Board certification in General Surgery or Burns Surgery
• Fellowship training in Burns and Reconstructive Surgery
  Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of post-certification experience in a tertiary burns center
• Expertise in skin grafting, microsurgery, and critical burn care
• Strong understanding of wound healing, infection control, and reconstructive techniques

• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environment
